MrBeast takes on the Sidemen in a series of $1000000 challenges!

The Production Designer for this set once again showcased her talent by designing five challenging obstacles for the Sidemen and the MrBeast crew to conquer.

The Honeycomb Maze was the first, with the teams having to find their way through the maze. Fastest wins but beware of the “bees” hidden in the maze. Totom built the hexagonal maze to PD’s specifications and even had to be on hand during filming to reseal some doors after one of the Sidemen got a little frustrated by the maze!

In the second round, known as Door Dash, teams went head to head to pass through a series of doors. However, the challenge was far from straightforward, as some of the doors were fake, making the game much more challenging. Between rounds, all the doors had to be replaced to ensure every team member had a chance to tackle the door-smashing fun.

The sprawling set for “On Your Bike” featured a large racetrack where participants raced on mini-trikes and faced various small challenges on the track. One such challenge, a small ramp, proved to be a stumbling block for all the contestants. This set filled the studio but was a joy to construct.

Round 4, Grid Iron, offered a simplified version of American Football, with the objective being to score the fastest touchdown.

The grand finale, Slipway, put each participant to the test as they slid on surfboards toward a tank of freezing cold water. The goal was to stop right at the tank’s edge without taking a chilling plunge. If you didn’t go quite far enough, rest assured, a helping hand was there to guide you to the tank. Remarkably, only one person managed to accomplish this feat, proving it wasn’t as easy as it looked.

As mentioned above, Totom played a crucial role in constructing the set for this video. We transformed both studios, covering a grand total of 44,000 square feet, at Stage Fifty’s Farnborough Film Studios, situated in the southwest of London. The impressive scale of this production was further showcased by Konstantin, the director of the video, who created his own behind-the-scenes video “How we Filmed Sidemen vs MrBeast“. This captivating footage provides a firsthand look at the immense setup and captures a glimpse of the dedicated Totom crew tirelessly working in the background, with a special mention to our diligent Logistics Manager, Brad Bond.
